π Public transit + FIFA shuttle (recommended)
Arlington has no passenger rail to the stadium β it's the only major US city of its size without urban rail.

- Free FIFA charter buses run from CentrePort to a Bus Hub just north of Dallas Stadium (~10-min walk to gates) β for ticket holders only

β½ FC Dallas Soccer Celebration β Simpson Plaza (Frisco)
Egyptian fan march in Dallas? As of June 30, 2026, no Egyptian-specific march or organized gathering has been announced for Dallas/Arlington β no Pier 58-style community walk like the one we had in Seattle. Klyde Warren Park (downtown) and Fair Park have been used informally by other national supporter groups and are plausible meetup points if the community organizes one. Watch the homepage for updates.
Tailgating: Policy is uncertain β Arlington police initially said yes, then walked it back. FIFA controls the Cowboys/Rangers lots and may set site-specific rules. Check official sources before showing up with a grill.
π‘ Texas-Specific Tips
π‘οΈ Heat β the #1 thing to plan for
Late June / early July in DFW averages a 97Β°F (36Β°C) high with overnight lows around 75Β°F (24Β°C). Heat index commonly hits 100β106Β°F. The 1:00 PM CT kickoff means peak afternoon heat on arrival.
- AT&T Stadium has a retractable roof and is one of three fully air-conditioned 2026 venues β inside is fine. The risk is outside (parking, walks, Fan Fest, watch parties).
- FIFA will provide misting stations, hydration stations, cooling tents, and 3-minute drinks breaks each half
- Hydrate before security β bring the one allowed sealed water bottle (20 oz max)
- Light-colored, loose, breathable clothing (cotton/linen). Long loose sleeves actually keep you cooler in direct sun than bare skin.
- SPF 30+ sunscreen and a hat β UV is much stronger than Seattle
- Dallas tap water is rated Superior by the State of Texas β refill from any tap
π΅ Sales tax & tipping
- Arlington sales tax: 8.25% (6.25% Texas + 2.0% local). Prices on menus and shelves do NOT include tax β added at checkout. Slightly lower than Seattle (~10.25%).
- Tipping: 18β20% pre-tax for sit-down service is standard (same as Seattle). Parties of 6+ often see an automatic gratuity β check the bill before adding more. Texas tipped minimum is $2.13/hour federally, so tips are essential income, not optional.
π Car culture
Unlike Seattle's walkable core, DFW is spread out and car-centric. There's no rail to AT&T Stadium. Plan for rentals, rideshare, or hotel shuttles β budget accordingly.
π€ Arab-American community
- Dallas County has ~275,000 Arab Americans β one of the largest concentrations in the US. Egyptian-American population in DFW was 5,000β10,000 as of 2008 and has grown since.
- Richardson (along US-75 north of Dallas) is the community hub β mosques, restaurants, halal butchers, and the Arab American Cultural Society (401 N Bowser Rd, Richardson)
- Ayat, a Palestinian restaurant owned by Egyptian-American Abdul Elenani, opened its first Texas location in Richardson in early 2026
π°οΈ Time zone
Dallas is Central Time (CT) β 2 hours ahead of Seattle. Egypt vs Australia at 1:00 PM CT = 11:00 AM PT = 2:00 PM ET = 8:00 PM Cairo (CEST).
